Sending or Receiving Files with Students
When working with students, if you ever need to send files to them or receive files from them, please note the following:
Healthmail is best
Healthmail is always the best and most secure option. It allows you to send a file to the student to complete and leave the conversation open for them to send back the completed form which goes directly into their medical record in Accuro.
Sendit is very good
Sendit is a system provided by the university and is super-secure as well. It does not interact with Accuro like Healthmail, but has some other advantages including the ability to:
Send/receive extremely large files (e.g., up to 20 GB).
Add password-protection.
Be notified when the files have been downloaded.
Additionally, files that are uploaded to Sendit are stored for only 24 hours before they are automatically deleted. This adds to the security of the files.
Email is to be avoided
Email should be avoided at all times for sending or receiving files from students as it is not secure and has file size restrictions (e.g., 25 MB) which limit the ability to send/receive multiple files.
