Save from Accuro directly to SharePoint
If there’s something in Accuro that you need to save directly to SharePoint, here’s what to do.
Create link in File Explorer to folder in SharePoint
Open SharePoint.
Navigate to the folder you wish to connect to (e.g., Information for All Staff > Committees) and click Sync.
If the SharePoint screen gets stuck at the following window for more than a few seconds, simply close it.
The folder you synced will appear in File Explorer under University of Waterloo.
If desired, you can now use that in File Explorer instead of navigating to SharePoint.
Extract files from Accuro and store them in SharePoint
Open Accuro and go into the patient’s chart.
Right-click on the item you wish to extract and choose Microsoft Print to PDF.
Save the item in C:\Users\WatIAM\University of Waterloo\XXX where WatIAM is replaced with your personal 8-character WatIAM (e.g., lgchase) and XXX is the location you've synced from SharePoint (e.g., Information for All Staff - Committees).
[Optional] Edit PDF(s) using Adobe Acrobat and put back in Accuro before sending via Healthmail
Find the PDF(s) you created above in File Explorer.
Open the PDF(s) with Adobe Acrobat, make your edits, and if necessary, save new PDF(s) to the same location.
Remember: Files larger than 5MB cannot be sent via Healthmail so you may need to use the Organize Pages feature of Acrobat to extract pages and create smaller PDFs.
Once you are done making changes to the files, cut and paste them to appropriate subfolder in the L: drive (e.g., L:\HIS-Scans\Active ROI Requests). The file(s) will auto-transfer to the S: drive.
Open Accuro, click Documents, open appropriate subfolder (e.g., S:\HIS-Scans\Active ROI Requests), and index the file(s) to the patient's chart.
