Mapping N and R network drives (Mac)

Network drives can be a great tool, allowing you to easily store information across devices. Confused about how to map the N and R drives on your Mac? Look no further!

Instructions

  1. Select the Connect to Server option from “Go” on the “Finder” menu.

  2. Enter the appropriate server address in the resulting "Connect to Server" menu. Replace "username" with your UW userid. Click Connect after entering each one.

    1. N: drive: smb://fileu.uwaterloo.ca/users$/username

    2. R: drive:  smb://filed.uwaterloo.ca/ceca$ 

  3. Select the Registered User option and enter your UW userid prefaced with "nexus\" as shown below and your password. Click Remember this password in my keychain to easily access this drive then click Connect.

 

To connect to the network drives, you must be on the VPN. If the above steps fail, please double check that you are connected to the VPN.
