Outlook Signatures (Windows)
Outlook signatures can be a great way to end an email. If you’re having difficulty configuring them or are moving to a new machine and want to save them so you can easily import them to your new machine then read on!
Signature Settings and Configuration
To update signature settings on Outlook, you'll need to view your options. You can do so by going to File > Options > Mail > Signatures. A window will appear and you can edit what signatures appear and when.
On-campus backup
On-campus users have their signatures backed up to their N Drive.
Look for a signatures folder in your N Drive, it'll be named according to your login credentials and computer name. For example “Signatures.ceedco21.CEE70902”.
For each signature, copy the 4 items, as shown below.
Copy these into a folder named Signatures located in this file path: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Signatures.
Make sure you have Hidden items enabled under the View option in your file explorer.
Off-campus backup
In your Windows search bar, search for “%appdata%” (without the quotes). Select the Microsoft folder and open the Signatures folder.
Select all 4 items for each signature you wish to save (see image in step 2 of On-campus backup) and copy them to your desktop. You may wish to create a folder on your desktop to hold the files.
To restore your signatures that you had backed up, copy all the files you had saved on your desktop then navigate to the signatures folder using the same path as above (%appdata% > Microsoft > Signatures) and paste your copied files.
