What do I need to practice as a professional engineer in Canada?

To practice as an engineer in Canada, you’ll need to register with the appropriate provincial

Do I need a graduate degree?

You do not need a graduate degree to register as a professional engineer, though you may
choose to pursue one to gain specialized knowledge and skills. If you’d like some support

What if I want to study abroad and return to Canada to work?

It is possible to study your bachelor’s degree in engineering abroad. Please note that if you
train internationally, the requirements to licensure may include a course-by-course report
from World Education Services (WES). Consult the provincial or territorial engineering
regulator for details.

 

How do I apply?

To apply for licensure, you will submit an online application through the engineering
regulator of the province or territory you wish to work in and, once it’s approved, you’ll pay
a registration fee to the appropriate engineering regulator.
