Skype for business certificate error at login (Windows)

Because Skype for Business uses non-public certificates for their servers when connecting from on-campus or the VPN, you may get the error “There was a problem verifying the certificate from the server.”

To Fix:

Download this certificate: https://secure.globalsign.com/cacert/gsintranetsslsha256g3.crt

Double click it to begin install, choose Install Certificate.

Choose Current User for Store location,

Choose “Place all certificates in following store”, browse for Trusted Root Certification Authorities

Install the certificate. 

Repeat the steps above to install this certificate as well: https://secure.globalsign.com/cacert/gsnonpublicrootr43.crt

 

 

Now relaunch Skype for business; must exit it from the taskbar and restart it.

Then attempt to sign in again.
