Note: Upload the file to your site before linking to it. The examples use a copy text block, but the principles apply anywhere the visual editor is available.

Using an internal link

  1. In a Copy text block, type out the text you would like linked (e.g. “this test PDF”), highlight the text, and select the Link icon.

  2. Begin typing the name of the File or Image and select it from the drop-down menu that appears.

  3. Select Save.

  4. Select Add block (Or Update if it’s a pre-existing block).

  5. Select state from the Change to: drop-down menu.

  6. Select Save layout.

Inserting from the media library

Images insert as the actual image, not a link, so you can only create links to files using this method.

  1. Place your cursor where you would like the file to be inserted in the Copy text Block.

  2. From the editing toolbar, select the Insert from media library icon.

  3. Select the File tab on the left side.

  4. Find and select the file you wish to use, then select Insert selected. You may also search for the media name of the desired existing file.

  5. Select Add block (or Update if it is a pre-existing Block). Below is how the file would display. The item is overlaid with an Edit media button which provides additional options for you to explore. (Note that while dimension-related options have no effect on files.)
