Problem

Describe the problem as the user would experience it. For example "Level 7 printer is flashing red and wont print".

When a staff member tries to complete the Tuition Benefit Application, an error message is received which states WatIAM does not have a valid student ID number.

When she completes the Tuition Benefit application, she gets an error message that WatIAM doesn’t have her student ID number.

Solution

Provide steps that the user can take to solve the problem. For example "The level 7 printer will flash red when it is out of paper. Add paper to tray 1".

This is likely occuring because the student account was not "claimed" by the user, and so the student ID is not associated with the users WatIAM account.
  1. Check your external email to see if you have any emails from WatIAM that you missed.
  2. Claim your student record - be sure to choose the option for users who have an existing account.
  3. If it has been more than five days, you will need to connect with the IST Service Desk so that they can regenerate the email for you, as the email expires after five days.
