What do I need to practice medicine in Canada?
To practice as a doctor in Canada you’ll need:
A medical degree from a school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools that includes the Canada Sponsor Notes
An LMCC
Complete a discipline-appropriate postgraduate program in medicine and be evaluated by a recognized authority
Certification from the appropriate college

How do I apply?
To apply to an MD program, you may apply through:
Ontario Medical School Application Service (OMSAS) for Ontario programs
Individual program websites for Canadian programs
American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) or Texas Medical & Dental School Application Services (TMDSAS) for most U.S. programs
How do I learn more about the medicine profession?
Book an appointment with the Centre for Career Development or attend a workshop or event to explore your options further
Engage in clubs and events with other students who share your interests through Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA)
Review different specialty certificates with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) etc.
