You can record any Teams meeting or call to capture audio, video, and screen sharing activity. The recording happens in the cloud, and is saved to Microsoft Stream, so you can share it securely across your organization.
Note: Whiteboards and shared notes are not captured in the meeting recording.
Recording a Teams Meeting
Start or join a meeting.
To start recording, click the ellipsis (More Options).
Select Record and transcribe and Start recording.
Once you start recording, everyone in the meeting is notified.
When you want to end the recording, click the ellipsis (More Options), Record and transcribe, then click Stop Recording.
The recording is then saved to Microsoft Stream, which may take a few minutes to process.
You can also access the video through the meeting chat or in the channel. To open the recording from the meeting chat into Stream, navigate to the recording, click the ellipsis, and click Open in Stream
Sharing a Recorded Video
To share your recorded video, navigate to Microsoft Stream and locate the video.
Then click Share on the top right of the screen.
Internal Sharing
Click on Share.
Type in the individual's name and click on the user you would like to add.
You can also adjust their permissions by clicking on the eye icon on the right.
Click Close once you've selected everyone.
The individuals will then receive an email with the link to the video.
External Sharing
Click on Share and Copy link.
Before sending the link, you will have to choose how people can access it. By default, only those that you have selected can access the link. To change this, click on People with existing access can use the link
In the menu that appears, you can select People you choose, People with existing access, or People in University of Waterloo (note that if you select People in University of Waterloo, anyone with a uwaterloo account can see the video if they receive the link)
Click Apply and Close.
