Regulation Valves

Regulation (or regulating) valves are valves designed to control and manage flow rate, temperature, pressure, etc. Most regulation valves achieve this by using a plug or similar device to modulate the flow area available.

Common valve types used as regulation valves include:

  • Globe valve
  • Ball valve
  • Butterfly valve
  • Diaphragm Valve
  • Pinch Valve
  • Plug Valve [8]

(Note: All the examples beside the globe valve are also commonly used as isolation valves. See isolation valve page for details)
