If you are working offsite, ensure you are first connected to the VPN before following these steps |
Step 1: Map the Drive
Switch to the “Finder” application (click on any empty place on your Mac desktop.)
Click “Go” on the Finder menu, then click “Connect to Server…” from the drop-down list, or use the keyboard shortcut “command+K”.
Enter the following for the R, N, and M drives in the “Server Address:” input field: (Change WatIAM_ID to your own WatIAM ID)
N drive: smb://renfileu.uwaterloo.ca/renhome$/WatIAM_ID
R drive: smb://filed.uwaterloo.ca/renison$
M Drive: smb://filed/renison_Media$/Marketing

drive is only

available to those who have been granted access. If you require this drive and it won’t allow you, please contact Renison IST.
Click on the “Connect” button in the lower-right corner of the window.
Click Connect again to continue
You will be prompted for your WatIAM credentials: userid and your password.
Click Remember this password in my keychain to easily access this drive.Click Connect
Step 2: Make the Drive(s) permanent
Open System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Click on Users and Groups (or Accounts in older OS) and choose Login Items.
Click on add (+) button to add another login item
Locate the network drive(s) you mounted before and click Add.
From now on your network drive will be mapped and automatically remounted every time you reboot your Mac.
