Using an existing Google Analytics account
If using existing tracking code you will need to update the URL in two places in your Google Universal Analytics account.
Paste the Tracking ID into your WCMS site (see Add your Tracking ID to your WCMS site below).
From Google Analytics, sign in with your Google (often this is a gmail) account.
Select the Admin tab.
Select the Account and Property you wish to edit from the drop down menus.
Select Property Settings option.
Set Default URL to https:// and update the URL path.
Set All Web Site Data under the Default View.
Click Save button.
Return to the Admin page and select View Settings under All Website Data drop down menu.
Set Website’s URL to https and update the URL path.
Click Save button.
Return to the Admin page and select Tracking Info under Property section.
Click on Tracking Code.
Copy (Ctrl+C) the Tracking ID.

Creating a new Google Analytics account
If you don’t have a Google Universal Analytics account set up for your site yet, you can do so quite easily.
From Google Analytics, sign in with your Google (Gmail) account (or sign up for one).
Click on the Sign up button.
On the next screen, select the Website tab.
Select your Tracking Method as Universal Analytics.
Enter the Account Name.
Enter the Website Name and the Website URL you want to track (use https://).
Set Industry Category to Jobs and Education and Reporting Time Zone to Canada and then Toronto.
Deselect all options under Data Sharing Settings.
Click the Get Tracking ID button.
A prompt box will appear, change country/region to Canada.
Read the Google Analytics Terms of Service Agreement and click the I Accept button.
Copy (Ctrl+C) the Tracking ID.
Paste the Tracking ID into your WCMS site (see Add your Tracking ID to your WCMS site below).

Adding your Tracking ID to your WCMS site
Site Managers can add a Google Analytics tracking code to their site.
From the Administration bar, click on Dashboard.
Under Site Management, select Google Universal Analytics.
Paste (Ctrl+V) the Tracking ID in Tracking ID field.
Optionally, provide your Google site ownership confirmation information into the Google site ownership confirmation field.
Select Submit.
