A Special alert displays at the top of pages you specify (see example below), surrounded by a red border. A Special alert can be created by a Site manager or by someone who has been given the Special alerter role. You can only have one special alert active on a site.

Note: Special alerts should ONLY be used to convey urgently important information, and was designed to be a quick sentence or two - not multiple paragraphs of information.

Add a Special alert
From the Administration bar click My Workbench.

From the Administration bar select My Workbench.
Select the Create/Manage Content tab.
Select Special alert.
Under Publishing options deselect the checkbox beside Published.
Click Save.

Known issue: When the special alert information is taller than the left navigation, the body content will become left-justified beneath the navigation. Editing down the special alert and then linking it to a page that has the full details is suggested. |
