What is Fluid Mechanics
A fluid is any substance that will change shape under external forces, such as liquids or gases [1] (will continuually deform under a strain). Fluid mechanics is a branch of physics that analyses a fluid's response to external forces [2].
There are two main branches of fluid mechanics:
- Fluid statics which studies stationary fluids
- Fluid dynamics which studies fluids in motion
