What is it for?

Supplemental health and dental insurance is for students to covers services not covered under OHIP, UHIP and other basic health-care programs.

Who receives coverage?

If you are a part-time or full-time undergraduate student, or a graduate student in a program not designated as "online”, you All undergraduate students and graduate students (excluding graduate programs designated as fully online) will automatically be charged the for the WUSA health & dental plans or the GSA health & dental plans. These plans are supplementary health and dental insurance plans negotiated with Studentcare by the WUSA and the GSA on behalf of students.

Co-op students have coverage only during academic terms and official co-op work terms.

What if I already have health and dental coverage?

Please see our Opt outs-Supplemental Health and Dental page for information on how to opt out if you are eligible.

Who will not have coverage?

You will will NOT automatically  automatically be charged for or enrolled in the WUSA/GSA health & dental plans if you are:•a

  • a Regular (not Co-op) undergraduate student enrolled in Spring term, but who was not enrolled in the previous Winter term

•a
  • a graduate student on a co-op term

•a
  • a graduate student on an Inactive term

•a
  • a co-op student who is not on an academic term or an official co-op work term

•a
  • a co-op student doing consecutive work terms - you will not automatically have coverage during your second consecutive work term;

  • a graduate student enrolled in a program designated as "fully online" - you are not eligible to enrol in the GSA
