This article only applies to users with a Skype for Business phone extension. Skype for Business phone extensions will start with the number 4.

Search for a user name

1. In Skype for Business, click the contact tab button or the dial pad tab button and type the user's name into the search bar.

2. Right-click on the user's profile click Call and choose the option you want to use to call them.

Search for a phone number + extension

1. In Skype for Business, type the UW phone number + extension formatted as 519-888-4567 x##### (Note: You must include the dashes in the number).

   Right-click on the user's profile click Call and name, point to Call, and then choose the option you want to use to call them.

using the dial pad (External Contacts)

1. Click the dial pad button in the top ribbon, dial the number, and click the Call button. You can treat this dial pad like a regular phone, this is the way . This is how you would call contacts outside UW.
